| | | Lucy Parker Fisher, age 84, of Fisher Creek Road, passed away Tuesday morning, May 18, 2004 in a Sylva Care Center
after a period of declining health. Mrs. Fisher was a native and lifelong resident of Jackson County and a former employee
of Skyland Textile. She was the daughter of the late John Milas and Charlotte Rebecca Aiken Parker. Sisters, Josephine Cooke,
Bessie Mae Blackburn and Arbie Penland, and brothers, Verlin Parker, Fred Parker and J.C. Aiken precede her in death.
Survivors
include her husband of 65 years, Joe Clyde Fisher of Sylva; daughters, Betty Fisher Barnes of Sylva and Mary Fisher and husband,
Kenny Mason of Dacula, GA; grandchildren, Angie Noland and Todd Barnes, both of Sylva; and two great grandchildren, Daniel
Joseph “D J” and Samuel Austin “Sam” Barnes.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday,
May 20, 2004 in the chapel of Moody Funeral Home, Sylva, NC with the Rev. Michael Farmer officiating. Interment will follow
at Dills Cemetery on Fisher Creek. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. prior to the service at the
funeral home. |
